The abdominal system in Station 1 PACES23 is moved to Station 4 which will be paired with a communication skills encounter.
New Station 1 format:
10 minutes communication encounter - Encounter will be judged on observation alone, no longer include a Question and Answer section with the examiners
10 minutes respiratory system encounter - Examination for 6 minutes, Question & Answer session with examiners
The history taking station in Station 2 PACES23 is replaced with a 20 minutes consultation encounter.
New Station 2 format:
20 minutes consultation encounter.
- 15 minutes: Structured history, examination, explain the diagnosis,
management & address any questions or concerns raised.
- 5 minutes: Question & Answer section with the examiners.
Station 3 remains the SAME
The respiratory system in Station 4 PACES23 is replaced with a communication skills encounter.
New Station 4 format
10 minutes communication encounter - Encounter will be judged on observation alone, no longer include a Question and Answer section with the examiners
10 minutes abdominal system encounter - Examination for 6 minutes, Question & Answer session with examiners
New Station 5 format
20 minutes consultation encounter.
- 15 minutes: Structured history, examination, explain the diagnosis,
management & address any questions or concerns raised.
- 5 minutes: Question & Answer section with the examiners.
