About the Program

The MEDIT MRCP (UK) PACES Preparatory Program (DIET 3/23) will be an 8-week learning journey with members and fellows of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) who are also leading trainers in the field. The program is designed as a 4 part learning experience intended to guide participants on the learning outcomes expected by the MRCP (UK) PACES.

1. Self-Paced E-Learning Modules (begins 11th August 2023 - 21st October 2023)

  • Related knowledge on commonly tested topics from the RCP (UK) syllabus
  • Approach to common cases and clinical findings
  • Recorded patient model/surrogate interaction samples for clinical and communication stations
  • > 20 hours of self-directed learning hosted on CME ACADEMY

2. Virtual Practise Sessions with Members of the RCP, UK (14th August 2023 - 6th October 2023)

  • 40 sessions conducted for 1.5 hours each (only CANDIDATES will be actively practising in the sessions)
  • Everyone is welcome to LISTEN & participate in the discussions
  • Monday to Friday, from 14th August 2023 - 6th October 2023 at 800-930pm
  • Online virtual training sessions for Communication & Consultation stations

3. Patient-Assisted Clinical Teachings with Specialists (30th SEPT 2023 or 1st OCT 2023)

  • Please ensure you select your preferred date during the registration
  • Patient examination teaching carousels 
  • Both the CANDIDATE & OBSERVER will get the opportunity to examine & present
  • 10 - 12 patient encounters (Station 1, 3, 5)
  • Constructive feedback on examination technique and presentation style improvement by trainers

4. Mock PACES assessed by Examiners (30th SEPT 2023 or 1st OCT 2023)

  • Please ensure you select your preferred date during the registration
  • 5 Clinical stations with either patient and/or trained stand-ins (surrogates)
  • RCP(UK) examiners at each station as assessors
  • Candidates and observers will be informed of their sessions upon registration

WHO is this course recommended for?

  • MRCP PACES candidates and learners who are keen to gain exposure to the standards of practice required to pass the MRCP(UK) PACES 
  • Parallel pathway trainees in the Internal Medicine Specialist Training in Malaysia 
  • Medical Officers with an interest to develop their careers in Internal Medicine
